About Us
Woodworking Since 1985
I began my woodworking journey in 1985 and have been passionate about creating beautiful, functional pieces ever since. With decades of experience, including work on the Thanksgiving Point project, I founded Local Limb Woodworking in 2000. We are committed to sustainable practices and crafting heirloom-quality pieces.

What is a
urban forest
An urban forest is any collection of trees and other vegetation growing within a city, town, or suburb. It includes everything from single trees in yards to larger patches of woodland. These urban forests provide many benefits like cleaner air and water, shade, wildlife habitat, and recreational spaces, but also face challenges like pollution and development. Urban forestry is the practice of managing these trees for the well-being of the city and its residents.
The Benefits Of Urban Forestry
Using wood from urban forests is a smart choice for several reasons. It diverts wood from landfills, reduces pressure on natural forests, and provides woodworkers with unique, locally sourced material. This sustainable practice supports local economies, reduces transportation costs, and creates beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces. It’s a win-win for the environment and craftspeople.
